I'm back!

Good morning blog friends, been awhile since I have been on, busy doing my sewing, making quilts, got a quilting machine makes it better to have one at home, don't have to go to the shop now, the shop haven't been open for a while, the owner is 84 years bold and her health is not doing good and she does miss her quilt shop but she told me to go there any time I want she is a sweet friend and I miss being with her. Hope everyone will have a safe and fun weekend.

In my sewing room WHY?

 Hi everyone, one question, WHY is so hard to find the time to blog, I really like reading everyone blog , but I just don't take time to blog. Some  time I will comment on the blogs and then  I will go on to what I need to do,    guess that just life.  I have been hand quilting on Barbara Back man  civil war reproduction quilt , got 4 block roll to go and them the border to quilt and will be done, about 4 more weeks if all goes good. My older daughter want this quilt so I guess it is her. That all for now Have a cozy night.     Why.

In my sewing room ,NOT!

Good morning to all ! Beautiful morning this morning,very cool for August weather,but enjoying it.
Nope,haven't been in the sewing room for awhile,my garden veg. is ready to freeze or can, so to busy for the sewing room. I have got some new project to  work on when i get back in there.  a quilt called patriot and petticoat, and a quilt with lot of applique work  to do and it is called rosewood cottage,can't wait to work on them.
 this is the first time in about 16 years that i don't have any grands kids to babysit, they are all in school and it is almost to quiet,but  i will get use to it just try to stay busy, I just do miss them,my little fellow ,is going to kindergarten this year and he was my last, my oldest granddaughter is marry and now we have our first  great grand baby,  she is 5 weeks old.
Before three of my granddaughter when back to school, I had them busy in my sewing room and they all made their own quilt and it was fun working with them. they done all of the sewing and pressing on their quilts,Josie done a scrappy 4 patch and Mattie and Laura done a scappy rail fence. I will be taking them over to a shop called Quaint Quilt and i will machine quilt on her big quilting machine .Guess i will close got to make tomatoes juice today and some errand to run. HELLO!!

I have been away for a while, haven't been feeling very good , but any way i have been trying to stay busy, that is good for the soul.  Today i put a zipper in a jacket for my brother. Now i have got to cut out no. 42 civil war block called H is for hospital  another block order number eleven and also  call Rachael reel,it have to be applique.. There is 53 block for this quilt and my older daughter want it when it is done. Sunday we had our younger daugther birthday, were did the time go, she is 41., our older daughter is 42, there is 18mons different in their ages. We when to church and them had a birthday dinner for her.I love reading all the other blog, sometime i make comment and  them i don't make them, but i like reading them and see what is going on, good friend on blog and so many pretty thing.Wish i had some picture for you to see of my blocks, maybe it my grand daughter come down she will do this for My grand kids are real big in sports, two of the are in basket ball now and the twin are playing softball for the high school and they are 7 grader, they are playing Jr varsity and varsity and also freshman, so they are busy.. A beautiful day here, so ready for spring. But we are going to have some winter min moving in this week. My wish for everyone is be happy  at what every you are doing!!!!! God is good!

My grand daughter took a picture for me and Igot to post a picture. This one have been in the works for a while, it is all hand applique and and hand quilted, just finish it up Saturday night with the binding!!

Sunday, today now it is raining, got three grand daughter to night,  Today we when to church and back here for dinner with our younger daughter and her family. It have been a good Day. We miss our older daughter at church and for dinner today.
I guess it will be full speed ahead on my civil war quilt this week. I  need to  get another quilt going for my daughter, she would like to have a log cabin quilt.
Also  would like to say Thanks again to Trudy From Trudy Crafts, her gift was so nice!!!!When i chew the gum, or use the other nice gift I will thank of you.

number 29 railroad crossing block!

Today in my sewing room , working on my civil war quilt block, number 29 block and got  14 more block to go, I'm waiting for some civil war fabric to get here, I have order some off of eBay, so I wish it would hurry up.My hand quilting is going good also, hope by the end of this week it will be ready to put the binding on.
Today i have little fellow and cupcake, she wasn't feeling good today so her dad said she could stay here today.Kind of busy with them .
Sunday I had my hubby 69th birthday so all the family was here except our older daughter, she was sick, today she found out it was her gallbladder, so a prayer for her that it will all go well.
I had some pictures to post, but don't know how since the blog as change the way it use to be, and I'm not very smart with the computer......
This is all for today, I don't get any comment on my blog so I don't know if any one read them, but I guess I will  continue on doing it when I have the time.

Block 21 underground railroad!

Today looking out of my sewing room windrow, the cloud are breaking away to a beautiful morning, we had some hard rain early morning hours. The temp. is going to be 61 today, not bad for Jan. weather. going to been around 70 on Saturday with wind and rain.but for now it is a pretty morning in Cash Ky.
 Working on no. 21 block called the under ground railroad, enjoy working at making these blocks.
Well i need to get to some house work  done,  and them I will do some hand quilting.
Little fellow is here, he has been so good ,We have  school after lunch to get him ready for kinder garden. He loves playing with his Lego blocks, he play with them a lot.
 Well this is all, got to get to work, every have a good day!!! God is Good!

New England block

Today I have made  the new england block for the civil war quilt, there is 53 blocks and i have gotten 20 blocks made, so it is moving on pretty good, but will be a while before it will be done.
 I also   hand quilting on the quilt  called Applique in a day by Eleanor Bruns.  I made the quilt last year and started the hand quilting, so  now I'm getting back to working on it. I just like quilting the border and make some little yo yo for some flowers on the border.
 today verse  Timothy 1 verse 3 I give thanks to God, whom I serve with a clear conscience, as my ancestors did. I thank him as I remember you always in my prayers night and day.

back to working on my civil war quilt

To day in my sewing room , Working on  a civil war quilt, I started it last year so I thought I would go back to it and hope to get it done. I'm doing one block a day on it, each block is 7 inches finish.  When my grand daughter is here, I will have her to take pictures for me. She took the last pics of the table topper and shirt for me to post.
 I have got all of my Christmas put away, but still have my snowmen tree  for the winter. The grands like that tree so I will let them enjoy it.

Last project of 2012!!!!

Wishing everyone a very Happy New years!! My last to project for 2012, 1930 reproduction fabric , made a 21x21 Dresden plate table topper and a small Dresden plate  on a sweat shirt and embroidery a little saying in the circle.I made the shirt this morning and the topper was made last Friday. Happy sewing to everyone for 2013!!!  This week i will be putting all of my decoration away and the grand kids will be back in school except little fellow and he kept me going!! We all had a wonderful Christmas. GOD IS GOOD!                          A prayer for my brother, who is have some heart trouble.

In my sewing room=== 2 blue ribbon and a white ribbon!!

 Today in my sewing, I have finish a baby quilt, hope to get it quilted this week, Our county art fair is coming up and I want to enter the quilt in it.This is the Hardin county homemaker art fair. I did enter a fall tables runner, and a embroidery  T towel and my hand done quilt as you go quilt in the Grayson county fair and was please with 2 blue ribbon and a white ribbon..
Today was cleaning day in my sewing room, i done this early this morning, so i could sew this afternoon,I 'm glad to get back to sewing, i have also made a burlap pillow and applique a pumpkin and leaves on it and embroidery the word fall . I have been seeing stuff made with burlap,  And I have several yards,  that I brought for our  grandaughter wedding. for tables runner,. So I need to use it up for crafts. I did make the gran daughter a door wreath with the burlap and put a big L in the middle. It is fun doing these thing, using burlap is a primitive look, and that what people likes.Some of it I do like. But mostly i just like making them.
 Today I will say it has been a good day, the weather is beautiful, my grandson and I will take a break and fixed us something to drink and go out on the deck or our from porch and wait for the mail man, He like to talk to the mail man and get the mail. Tomorrow we willl have lunch at school with our little gran daughter, we are looking forward for this and she is to.

In my seing room----- a little sewing!!!

Today, is a wet day to work outside, so I will be making one of my T-towel to enter in the fair, I have enter one for the last 3 years and so for i have got blue ribbon on them. Today I also will be work in some corn, I have about 50 years to work up.
 IT is beginning to sound and feel like fall, I like fall, but it a sad time because everything is dying for the season. But the bright  side, the colors and the fall decoration are so pretty. It is so nice to just sat out on the porch or deck with a glass of tea and  relax, which I have done alot of lately.
 Little fellow is here today, he misses all of  the kids to play with,  I will be working with him on preschool stuff so he will be ready for kindergarten next year. He wanted to go this year but was not older enough,so  some school work  will be good for him..
 My first year of school, me and my sister walk to school, with other kids, we live in a small town, so we didn't have to walk to for. I loves my first grade teacher, but  to get our first Alice and Jerry  book we had to learn all of out ABC and the teacher would point to each one for us to say, so I try really hard to learn them, so I could get my first book. Just a little memory  of my first year of school. The school is still standing and now is a tractor place

In my sewing room ! A beautiful morning

Today is a beautiful morning, I have little fellow today,he stay all night with us, so he is up and ready for today. My plans for to day, I just don't have any thing going, I guess I need to do more work on the flower beds. Yesterday i put new mulch all around and look so much better, I should of had it all done but I am behind in my outside work. but the bright side is I just have one more flower bed and the north side of my house to finish and it will be done. We also need to clean up the garden and get it ready for next year, and maybe it will be a better garden next year, it was such a hot time and no rain.
 It soon will be time for the county fair in Grayson county and I always have my sewing craft made to enter in the fair, but this time I guess I will just enter a quilt,  I am running so for behind this time and don't have nothing new  made to enter.
 Yesterday was my daughter 42th birthday and today is my mother in law birthday she is 92, where as the time gone, it is going to fast. Happy birthday to them both.  I will have their birthday dinner this week in.
In my sewing, well not much going on in here, i lay my fabric out to work on,but it is not getting done, I just can't get back in the swing of thing, maybe when i get all of the work done outside I will get back to sewing. Do you all ever get in a mood and just don't do what you like to do , just do what need to be done?

In my sewing room ---------brown recluse !!!!!!!

 Well  I have been bit by a brown recluse about 3 week ago, and it has been scary. It happen during the night and woke me up, i knock it off but it was fast and bit me so off the the doctor i go. The medicine they gave me i couldn't take so i went back and could not take this medicine, so the  third round i finally could take the med. So it look good still got some red color. I have not been able to sleep for thinking about them. You can have you house treated for them for it does help so i have done some research and they all say about the same . Most say get those sticky trap and place them in corner and under the bed around baseboard so this is what i am doing. Had got some more of them in the trap. I kept every thing clean and  nothing under my bed but they have come from somewhere.We need to set bug bomb under the house, but they said it would kill good spider that will kill the brown recluse.Since this has happen we know people with new home has them really bad and trying to get rid of them, I also read that white winger will kill them instantly but you will have to see them to spray. They like dark places.
 In my sewing room not much going on, I did make a cover photo album for a baby shower, was going to do a baby quilt but  Didn't feel like it after the spider bite. So I guess I will get back in to making and sewing again.
 It has been a busy summer with all of the grand kids, some good day and some day s not so good, but I do miss them Two of them as already went back to school and the other three will go next Wed. I  Will  have one  and that is the  little fellow which is making a big fellow he kept me pretty busy and he will miss the other one to play with. HE miss the cut off  by three days and he so wanted to go to school we told him he will be ready next year.
 My garden ,  not so good the drought hit it, I had 3 long roll of beans and just got 3 canning off of them, so I have can beets and bean and froze some squash and that about it. Our tomatoes didn't do any thing it was a dry time for them. We had been getting stuff from the Amish.
 I guess this is all for now, kind of quiet here .might go and take a short rest. God is good, and with him he has help me to deal with the spider bite. Have a great day!!!!!

all ready Friday !!!!

Today was a good day , didn't get much done,  just cleaning some, had 4 grands today and they bought a friend with them so a lot of kitchen duty today. This week as gone by so fast, when we was kids it took forever for a week to past, now i would like for it to go slower..
 As for as my sewing this week I just finish a pageant casual wear to put it in the mail for someone in  Burton Mi.,  I just loves to see were my outfit are ship to. I hope to get another one that i have started , to get it finish and put on ebay. I don't want to get anything big started now, because the garden stuff will be coming in for canning. I have 3 long roll of greenbeans and the dears eat the top out of them so I just hope there will be more on the sides of the beans, we will see what happen. It is so dry here we do need some rain...
 Grandaughter had sold donuts to raise money for their travel softball team so I took the girls and delivery them today. My neighbor Sue , have a lot of pretty flowers blooming , I really enjoy seeing them.I wish i could get some flowers to bloom like that. Good job Sue!!
Well guesss i will get off now,  I have a grandson and a grandaughter that will be play baseball and softball tonight. Hope everyone will have a good weekend. God IS GOOD.

in my sewing room, Today, 46 years ago was our wedding day!!!!

 to day is our  46th wedding anniversary ! We dated for 6 week and he ask me to marry him  at a little  restaurant  in Clarkson. we meet at a dance, he came and ask me to dance and i said yes, and them he ask if he could take me home, but he had to ask my parent first, my parent was at the dance also. my parent said ok and so the story is told we  have been happily married for 46 year and if the good Lord is willing ,I hope for many more year. We have two beautiful daughter and  2 wonderful  son in laws which they give us 7  of the greatest grandchildrens. I love them all so much. Thank you God!!!

in my sewing room, Wedding and a picture!!!!

A rainy Friday morning, school is out for the grandkids so i have been busy with them ,and my grandaugther wedding, and garden time, so yes it is a very busy time. This morning I was reading some blog and thought iwould take some time a write a quick note, Hope all of you are doing good and staying busy in your daily sewing and crafting!! My older grandaughter got marry last Saturday, it was a beautiful wedding, i made three of my grandaughter dresses , her color was yellow and it was a rustic wedding. hope the picture come up on this blog, the blog is new and different so I think i need to work on it more so i know what i'm doing. I have several table runner that was made with burlap fabric for her rustic wedding, all of the center piece that was on the tables our guess wanting to take them , we hads fruit jar with a t light in them and wild flower.I will be selling all of the burlap table runner and they are 11 ft long, I have 11 of them. Today in my sewing room I'm working on a pageant casual wear, so i will need to get it done and get in the mail on Saturday. busy in my sewing room

Hello everyone, I have been busy and it have been a long time since i have done any blogging, I have miss it. I hope I can blog more.
I have got the most of my redecorating done, my foyer room is last to be done and we are waiting to have our tub and tile refinish just some small stuff let to do.
I did finish two of my quilt that i have been working on, very please with them. I have got a newer computer but there is a problem with getting all of my document up and going, my son in law is working on them. I would like to post pictures and soon i hope.
Last week i have been working on making pageant casual wear for a lady who has a new baby and now I think I'm hook on that, I love making little girl clothing. I have two listed on my face book and some other pageant places.
The dogwood is bloom out beautiful and now we are having a cold spell so I guess this is what they call dog wood winter, I have herd this all my life.
Our Easter was really good all the family was here , with church, dinner and a egg hunt for the grands, we hid 270 fill eggs, some with some money and it didn't take them long to find them.
