in my sewing room-----------------putting together my quilt

today i have been putting a sampler quilt together, now I have to put the main border on it and do some more applique on it. the quilt is an applique sampler quilt by Eleanor burns . I really like her pattern. I think after i get this one quilted I would like to start a egg money quilt by Eleanor burns, I have got all the 1930 reproduction fabric to do it with. There is so much I want to do but the days aren't long enough. I have been in my sewing room the most of the day, I also cut out a pageant Valentine casual wear to put together,so I feel like i have done quiet a bit today.Hope every one has had a good day, When i can get something done it is a Good day for me. I got a gift for Christmas it is a little gold sprool of thread and a little needle stuck in it with a small chain and a tiny button on it, My sister in law said she found it at a flea market and thought of me. it is in a card that said In everything you do----- you love come true. It look like is is old, I haven't seem this before, I am proud of it! I feel like i have got alot done today hope you have to.------------ Romans 12; verse 11 Work hard and do not be lazy. Well Christmas is over with , it is kinda sad, all the family have get back to their daily jobs, and now here it is Sunday , the family was here for lunch and we enjoy them today. As for Monday don't know what I will be working on, but my mind is doing a lot of thinking. I didn't get my Christmas quilt quilted so that might be what i will work on it just depend on the mood I'm in. I need to get back in my pageant casual wear for Valentine, so who know what i will do. I will start putting away some of the Christmas decoration, but will leave one tree up until after the first of the Mon. so there is a lot I can do. I guess this is all I have to say, hope every one had a very good Christmas and hope the new year is very good year.Psalms 118; verse 29 Give thanks to the lord, because he is good, and his Love is eternal.

Well today I make some more candy and tomorrow I will do some baking for our Christmas eve get together.Today I got an email from my niece about what apron are use for and as you know they was use for so many different thing, bought back allot of memory, but any way I email her and told her about the aprons that mom made me and that I got one of mom apron ,she said she wish she could of had one but the kids got them to kept . so I came to my sewing room and made her an apron , I put two pocket on the apron and monogram her name on one pocket and floral heart on the other pocket, it is not one of my mom apron but it is something that i made for her. I also made a pincushion chair from my mother pattern and it turn out real cute, it will be mind unless one of the girls want it and I will make another. not in my sewing room today, We got up early and when out to breakfast and when to my grandson ballgame in Caneyville, they didn't win but that OK as long as they had fun. We them got back to leichfield and had lunch, The grand kids came home with us so their mother could go shopping. when she got done shopping in bowing Green she call us to meet her at walmart in leichfield to pick up the kids and them I done my shopping for my candy making and cake baking next week. So now in my sewing room I have been wrapping gift and that done so I'm on the old computer. Yes I'm in my sewing room today wrapping gifts, i still have to do more shopping.I hope to get done this week and them will be ready for the big day. I need to do some cleaning and cooking next week, all of my family will be here for Christmas eve. It seem like I just post last Sunday and here it is another Sunday ,were does the time goes. We when to church and the family came back here for dinner and for the kids to be to gather to play. Soon Christmas will be here and the grand kids are getting excited, they like to ask for clue on their gift, it make it fun for them to try to guess. Kids get so much now, I know when we was little we would just get one gift and some fruit and candy, we thought we had it all. they are so many memory I could write about our Christmas ,some Christmases we didn't has much but we was all together and that say it all, We lose our mother Dec. 15 1975. I will all way miss her. Today I got a call that her brother my uncle had pass away he was 84, it will be a sad holiday for them, Kept them in your prayer. this is all for tonight, hope all will have a peaceful night.---------------------psalms 46; 1. All my trees are done so I will get ready and start wrapping packages. I finish all of the stocking yesterday but I want to do one more. My grandson has a double ear infection and dosen't feel to good so I have been just playing with him, now he is taking his nap. I sure don't like for them to feel bad hope he feel better real soon. I still have to decorate the mantle, that want take to long. It sure is cold outside and I need to fix some of my decoration because of the wind, I did put some of the stuff out of the wind. Today was my dad birthday he would had been 83, he passaway in 1983, seem like forever. Today we when to church and the family came home for dinner, it was a good day for chili and hotdog and for desert I made a chocolate pudding pie, our 2 daugthers and grandkids all had a good day. My older grandaugther help me with the big tree, so it is up, just got to get it decorated. We took 4 of our grandkids over to White Mills to see the ole bridge, it was all done up in the christmas light and the churches by the river was decorated pretty also.When we got back their mother was ready to go home she had to get ready for work tomorrow and our younger daugther had all ready gone home with her family to do some of her work and get ready for her work week. So this was our Sunday, Hope every one had a good day, when you can be with your family is a very joyable day.---------------------------1 CORINTHIANS 16; verse 24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.

I have not been in my sewing room today. I put on insulated overrall and gloves , a hood jacket and when outside to do the christmas decoration, it has took me all day and it is done, i'm so glad. It was a very pretty day and I enjoy being out. It was cold but with the clothes i had kept me very warm. I thought about when I was young how we would bundle up and meet a bunch of friends to go sleigh riding, It was so much fun ,we would be out all day come home for dinner and the hot food was good. Its funny how you are doing something and you go back in time and think about what you use to do. Now if it snow I weary about the family having to be out in it going to work. My dad would say he hope it didn't snow and I didn't under stand why he would say that, but now I know. Well so much for going back in time. My dad birthday birthday is Dec. 6th He died on Dec 24, I will alway miss him.-------------Psalms verse 1-2 I will always thank the Lord ; I will never stop praising him. 2 I will praise him for what he has done; may all who are oppressed listen and be glad.

No cookies, it is my tree for the for the kitchen, It a 4ft tree i have got a sm. kitchen and a corner for a tree, so i do it in gingerbread, my grandaughter who is 3 loves this tree, she likes to help ,but she put it all on one side so i will help her to place thing. no, it is not gingerbread cookies it a pageant casual wear, got to get this one made and in the mail on Sat. I did take time out to put up my tree in the living room, it is a 6 ft slim tree and I will decorate it in victorian , it is kind of formal, color pink ,gold and cream with clear like I also put angel and some small doll. I didn't get the family tree up yet , I have got to get out of storage and my husband has to help me' so maybe tonight if he get home before dark. I was in my sewing some today ,i had to finish hairbows to go with the grinch outfit. I had my carpet clean today and they look so much better, I will clean everything and put my stuff back in place tomorrow. I 'm getting ready to do the big tree it is 9ft tall, this one is in the family room.I love snowmens and I made a big snowmen for the top of the tree and then put all the stuff that we have collected over the years on this tree. I remember when we would go out to find the perfect tree and get back to the house and trim it up and decide it wasn't the perfect tree. those day was fun, it would take us all day looking, we would go from one place to another. Last year we took the old truck and loaded the grandkids so they could look for them a tree for their room, they really enjoy doing that and we had fun doing this with them, we even let them try to cut their own tree. It is so easy now all you do is open the box and surprize there is the tree, I will say the clean up is a lot easier. I guess this is all for now. today in my sewing room I will be finishing a grinch pageant casualwear, I work on it yesterday and today . today is black Friday guess people are running over them self to get the bargins, me I'm here in my sewing room getting ready to sew on a pageant wear, beds are made grandkids are fed and setting at the dinning room table coloring in their coloring books so right now everything is going good. Hope to get a lot done on this casual wear because I need to get it in the mail. I have one more custom order to do and this will be my last one for now. them I will do what need to be done for the holiday, and finish some of my project, like quilt my Christmas quilt. all the family was together today at my mother in law, lots of good food and we all are full and back home. 5of the grandchildren came home with us tonight. i had cut out some quilt blocks and took with me today for the kids to draw picture on so they done a good job and it kept them busy for a while, they done 2 a piece except will who is 2 just done his one with my help. I will be doing a quilt with these blocks and years down the road they will enjoy seeing the quilt or I hope so anyway. guess everyone will be shopping on Friday for the big sales, I just shop when every I have the time . Well not much when on in my sewing room today , I had my 6 grandchildren so it was a busy day, they all had a good time being together. Thankgiving day we will go to my husband mom for dinner, she will be 90 year old in Aug. She does real good for herself, she still does her work and take care of her garden and try to do what she need to do. We will all take food in but she will cook also, she sure is a blessing to all of us. I have cut out some quilt block to take for the grandkids to draw a picture on them and color them and sometime it is going to turn into a quilt, I think the kiddo will enjoy doing this and is something a little ex. for them to do. I will close for tonight, every one have a blessful thankgiving. To day in my sewing room I will be working on a Little girl pageant caual wear ,theme gingerbread girl, going kinda slow today not feeling very good.My daughter is going to post some of my work for me when she get time. I hope she can do this today.I do enjoy doing my blog but sometime there is not much to say. I remember when I was a little girl I was so bashful and whem someone would talk to me I would hide behind my daddy legs or my mom dress, they would try to get me to talk to them but i wouldn't say a word, so today everyone have a full day and do what ever you want to do.Revelation 22; verse 7 Listen! says jesus."I am coming soon! Well here it is Monday again, I have my 2 year old to day, he is so full of enery , so I will be busy. I don't have much to talk about this morning, Just to say Hello to everyone who reads my blog. Will try to get some sewing done, and cleaning from the week end, I had 3 of my grandaugther from Friday thrus Sunday. My husband and me was talking about fixing our old garage up for a play house for the girls ,they play in there yesterday, and had a good time ,we can put their play stuff in there and this could be their little get way. We when to church today and the family came here for lunch and had a good day, the grandchildren got to play outside today, they like to explore on the farm. I remember when I was little we live on a farm and when our cousins came over we would go all over the farm and just have a good time, it seem like kids just don't do this, they like to play computer game or watch tv or just be in the house. I Didn't do any thing in my sewing room today, so I guess I will get back to work on the Christmas stocking, my daughter want one for each of them so guess that what I will be doing. I use to do alot of other crafts but now I just do my sewing ,that what I like to do best, I have my flower arranging to do sometime and I do enjoy that, but that not everyday. Jesse my husband would take everything that I makes to work with him and sell my crafts and he would alway bring home order for me but that has been several yrs back, time is sure going by fast, there is so much I would like to do and it just take time.This week I have got to finish a pageant casual wear, and Quilt on the christmas Quilt, When I get something going I like to get it done and go to making another project.It take time when it come to quilting a quilt, Me and my mother in law and Daugther was talking about quilt s today so I got the first quilt I made out to show to them , I would like to do a quilt for both of my girls and grandchilden, so maybe sometime I can do this. Today I have my three grandaughter, Mattie and Josie the twins and Stieve Nicole and the weather is going to be a very nice day so I think we will be outside doing more yard work, this should have it done.Yesterday didn't get to much done, did do a little sewing. I had a tooth to break off and had to go to the Dentist, they was able to save the most of my tooth. I remember when I was a little girl my dad took me to the dentist for the first time and they had to pull a tooth, we only when to the dentist when something was wrong with them. He took me to Dr Hidgon in Liechfield and it was up stair and my dad help my hand going and coming back. you just don't forget stuff like that, I guess that why it call memory. ( good memory). I guees to day sometimes in my sewing room I will make a Christmas stocking for my great nepew baby this is his first holiday, they live in california.I have seem pictures of him so hoply they will be here for the holiday. I try to live my day to the fullless, but there is not a hold lot that go on, Ijust stay busy with everyday things. Well today Im not getting much done, did do some emboridery work this morning, it was a sm. job and it is done. I got to take my mother in law to the doctor today and when I have to go some where I don't get in to much ,just little job.I have got the stocking done and i"m doing emboridery work on them they have turn out looking pretty good, maybe I can get my daughter to post a picture of them and my quilt, the pieces on the stocking is left over from the quilt. I have several quilt I would like to make but it take time to do a quilt and quilts them.I need to start thinking about the hoilday ,it soon will be time to do the trees, I put up 4 trees and guess my favorite one is the family tree, I try to add a new piece to that tree every year or something that the grandkids has made, those are the special one that goes on the tree.I guesthe oldest piece on the tree is about 50 yrs old it was alway on my mom and dad tree, and them the year I married Mom give me a new ornament for the tree and it is 43 year old there is also thing that my daugthers have made that go on the tree, when you look at the tree it bring back memory. today is a good day hope your is too. well today is a raining day, so it a good day to be in side. I have will issac he sure is full of engery, he is already on the go. I guess today I will work on the casual wear and cut out some christmas stocking to do crazy pieceing or patchwork pieceing on them to give to my daughter, I will emboridery their name on them also. My mom sew but she didn't do alot of it, she would make doll cloth for our dolls and make some of our clothes, she stay busy doing her every day stuff she love her garden and her canning. We live on a small farm so it kept her and dad busy. but anyway I learm some of my sewing from her and them high school in home ec, I pick up the rest of what i needed to know about using patterm and that just got me going. When I marry we live in Louisville for 1 year and I sure didn't like living up there so we move on his dad and mom farm and been here for 42 yrs, anyway my husband had a guitar and he took it to western auto store and trade it for me a sewing machine and I tought it was the greatest machine, my older daughter now has that machine and it does pretty good job of sewing. I sure did use that machine alot, made all of mine and the girls clothes. It was later on on when I got in the piecing and quilting, my mother in law done this kind of sewing so I learn this from her , and I work in a Quilt shop so that is were I learn the rest of the trade.well this is enough on this subject. everyone have a bless day.Psalm 46- first verse God is our shelter and stregth, always ready to help in times of trouble.

I had a very nice day in Louisville yesterday. Here it is Monday again, I have my 2 yrs old grandson today, he will kept me busy. I guess today I will start a casual wear for someone in Ohio for a pageant and will try to get my strips cut for the quilt Im working on. I t is going to be a pretty day and so much I want to do, but it finding the time to do it.hope every one has a good day! well this have been a beautiful day, I wasn't in my sewing room for just a little while this morning. I when to a quilt shop and got some fabric and to a little craft store and back home to work on the fish pond. I got the pond clean out and the plants back in the deep water for the winter, I had lose out on my fish but will put more in this spring. So it have been a good day! Good night, church in the morning and going to Louisville to my niece for thankgiving. May god will watch over us during the night and give us another day.

Well today don't guess I will do much sewing, Iwill be out side working on the fish pond to get it ready for winter, it need to be clean out, and the lily put down in the deep water and this will take time to get it done. I also need to go to the quilt shop in Clarkson to get fabric to set the Chistmas quilt together, I will be glad to get it all done and see how it come out, will try to post a picture of this quilt. Well today I finish the last block to the christmas quilt, It had a lot of small piece to applique, but turn out real good.I clean up the sewing room to get ready for another project haven't decided what will be next. I will get this quilt in the quilting frame to quilt, will take time to do it on my hand, so I hope I can get it done by the holiday.Good night and bliss every one.

today I'm doing paper piecing haven't done this kind of piecing so it is fun to do, it is a star for my Christmas quilt, when this block is done, one more to go, hopely I will get it made today also it depend on my Will Issac he is full of energy, wish I could store some of it up and I could get more done. I did finish my pageant casual wear and my daughter will list it on ebay. My computer is old so I can't do pictures , I wish I could so I can show you my work (maybe someday). I didn't get to do much today , all i done in my sewing room is make hairbows and bows for a pageant wear to get it ready for ebay.this afternoom my husband and my 2 yrs old grandson and i when out to do yard work, we had leaves to do and burn a brush pile and now that is done so I will be back to work on my Quilt. I really like to do sampler quilts with applique work, I do most of my work on the machine and I like to hand quilt them. When I do baby quilt , I will do emboridery work on them and machine stitch with a stippleing design.Well this is all for tonight and I will see what tormorrow may bring. God bless.

This is new to me, a friend as told me about the blog so I check it out and like it and thought I would give it a try. My hobby are sewing, crochet, flower arrangement crafting and gardening and every thing that goes with it.I like all crafts and will try it once. But sewing is what I do most, i try to sew everyday, I'm working on a christmas quilt and it is a sampler so I have 3 blocks to go and them I can set it together, I also do alot of casual casual wear and sell on ebay , i really like to see where they are mail to. I kept my grandbabys while their parents work, I have seven grandchilden 2grandson and 5 grandaughter, they are great fun and they do kept me busy.I have 2 daughters one is a nurse and the other daugther work at the extention office.My husband is retire but it work for a driving service to take people to the Dr. or where they need to go, he like to be busy. Well this is a start, so hoply I can do some pictures and kept this going.
